Even though the sun didn’t seem to

Rise from your eyes,

I held you, it was always subtle,

But I held, from a distance,


You gave me more than you know,

Through the long summers,

The glow of summer taught me something

I didn’t know, as much as

You believed I did.

I knew.

Again and again, I saw you

Often, still, silent, unmoving,

Despite the silence of the seasons,

The colours presented you,


From the distance you came home,

Often broken, sometimes without hope,

But never irreparable,

All it took was for me to hold you,

Often, without either of us realizing, without trying,

We held,
