Went for an interview today for a job a really wanted. I didn’t get it, I blew it!!! I’m a little bit pissed off with myself.
So right now, I wish I was sailing in that yacht alone with a nice bottle of single malt.
Life, love and destiny.

We canโt constantly be everything people want us to be. When I donโt get a specific job, normally itโs because Iโm putting too much pressure on myself, it reveals a silver lining.
Maybe put another way, better things often come when weโve dealt with whats troubling us inside.
External events only poke the internal bee hive, they donโt put the bee hive inside us.

I hope you can stop being angry with yourself. I saw a video the other day which said some people donโt believe in luck and take responsibility for everything. Give yourself some slack. Itโs not in your control to ensure you get any given job, even if you do everything a 120% right. Iโm sorry you didnโt get it though

Yea I realise that now, I was desperately disappointed yesterday. Feel a little bit better this morning. I’ve thought about it and realised I probably couldn’t have answered some of their questions unless I’d already got experience on the job. Thanks for what you said, appreciate it ๐

It was for top fieldwork job in Social services. I was the only outside candidate. In the waiting room was an internal candidate who told me he was retiring in two years time and hoped I would get the job. The question that produced the answer that frightened them was effectively how would I react if they reorganised in two years and demoted me. The penny dropped so I instantly replied: “I would consider you didn’t want someone of my calibre and I would get a job somewhere else”.

I understand that feeling. Not to worry, I’m pretty sure you will get another great opportunity soon.
Nothing will make the pain you feel go away so easily. I recommend you wait it out and take baby step with whatever you find pleasing to do.

Aw sh*t, sorry about the interview โ are you sure you didnโt get it? Oddly enough, the interviews I thought went well over the year were jobs I didnโt get (pleeeeenty of them!) but I remember two interviews in particular that went utterly horribly and I thought I stood less than no chance, and I was offered the job for both ๐ If you donโt get it, just imagine that you could have dodged a bullet and hopefully the next interview goes a little better for you. For now, forget, distract & chill out for a bit, youโve earned it because interviews are horrible!

I know it’s been said already, but sorry you didn’t get that job. But don’t be too hard on yourself, often times it’s the interviewer that has the problem and just doesn’t see the true potential of someone. Keep looking, I’m sure something better will come along for you. Keep focused ahead, learn from the past.

If it’s any consolation, I had a job interview last year and it was perfect. I was prepared, I answered every question intelligently. I even asked a question which made the interviewers stop and think.
But I didn’t get the job. Not only did I not get it: when I followed up, they said that they had offered the job to another candidate who had turned it down. They’d be readvertising.
The second ad was identical to the first. No changes to the requirements or the money on offer. All they did was add ‘previous applicants need not apply’.
I could understand them offering the job to another applicant other than myself. But going through the whole business all over again? When would-be employers play idiot games like that, I count it as a bullet dodged if they turn me down.
And as it happened another firm offered me a job just a couple of weeks later. Short term contract, six months only, but I completed the project and gained another referee ready to sing my praises. My manager and the HR office gave me some solid advice on my presentation. My resume is vastly improved as a result. So don’t fret, you never know when the phone will ring again.

You are asking rational questions. I am a wrong person for that. Why do I like the dress? Or the purse?..
It is a feeling. An anticipation. An expectation. The desire and totally irrational wish to have it. With this particular item to also have it inside as well as simply own it.
I wish I could show a pic, but I can’t find it. Besides I am not sure a man can understand the joy of having something inside. ๐

Ok, I understand that. It must feel amazing for you to burn inside when you want something so badly inside you.

It is more than that. More like a waterfall or the lust that needs to be taken care of. Just overwhelming.

I suspect it wasnโt meant to be…Iโve sabotaged myself a few times…something better showed up.
