It’s been a while! Bogged down with work, bus rides, helping friends, family and lots of socially isolated, vulnerable people. (Immediate family 🤣)
I’d be lying to myself if I said it’s not be tough, because it has (Still is) but I’ve been lucky-ish because at least I’ve been able to carry on working (Mostly) apart from the 7 day self isolation, so my mental health is mostly healthy, with sporadic episodes of “What the f#$#$ckkkkk”!
Anyway, I’ve been working almost constantly along with those members of the team who have not been isolated or afflicted by personal loss.
There’s a faint light at the end of the viral tunnel (We hope) and because of the forced decimation of our team, I’ve been fortunate to meet a member of the management team (Very high up) who appears to share my sense of demented humour!!!
We’ve had fun and laughs, but if it’s ok with you, I’ll write about it when I get a little more time because I have to go to work in 15.
It’s sort of comforting and familiar to be back.
Good to see you back! Stay safe and well 👍

Stay safe and hear more later. With the mention of buses, how are you finding it when it comes to travel on bus?

Hi Liz. Thank you luv. Actually, the bus service is extremely sporadic and when they actually turn up their almost deserted.

Glad to hear you’re plugging on! Those light area at the end of a tunnel often prove to be birth canals if followed out. Look for new, serendipical ops to be born as a result of your earnest hanging in there!

That’s good. How’s lockdown been for you?

Pretty boring. I am more of a doer than observer.

Yea, I had that impression 😊 so what have you been doing during the lockdown?

Mostly nothing exciting. Watched a couple of old movies, made a few calls to people I have not heard for a while and practiced remote dating.

Ok. So remote dating ? Intriguing?

Well, it is about my sugar dates. I was not able to do it personally so we thought about phone and video. But nah, it is rubbish, of course.

Of course it is. Nothing compared to a real date.

Ok. Just googled it. So you like wealthy men who give you a good life ? Is that right ? Or not right ?

Well, it depends what you include in that. But hey, well, yes, generally speaking you are right.

Ahh ok. So why would you think I would think bad of you ?

Because so many people misinterpret that. Most of my friends don’t understand that. And take it as sort of prostitution.

Getting back to “normal” even when its a little different, is comforting. When life knocks us down (as it has many of us), our getting up (as you have), our foundation has become stronger. Keep the faith and the momentum.

Thanks so much for always “being there” with constant support and feedback. I am both safe and well, and pray that you are also.

I love the humour you find in your work. Looking to the brighter lighter side is such a great coping tool. Plus it’s entertaining 😁

Thank you, I’ve found it’s vital to keep a sense of humour in this type of work. If I didn’t I’d probably go nuts

I grew up around nurses – cracking sense of humour. Great compassion but cracking sense of humour.

So you know the mentality we have to adopt

Absolutely. Plus humour provides a lighter energy to all those around you – imparting that happiness and levity is so important in an environment where your mood and emotion is directly affecting other people.

Exactly right. Maybe that’s why the residents are usually upbeat or should I say better behaved when I’m working with them
